The Importance of Quality Content in SEO Marketing

Although Google itself was launched in the late 90’s, it wasn’t until the beginning of the 21st century until search engine optimization (SEO) became a thing. Keyword went from being practically cannon fodder for ad-driven websites to a fine tool that savvy developers can use to boost their website and make it skyrocket in terms of rankings. However, whether you’re running an inbound marketing agency or a HubSpot platform, you’ll notice that without content, your website isn’t going to be at the top of any list.

As far as keywords go, there are numerous ways one can implement them into their site in order to make Google notice it. However, if they want visitors to keep coming back to their site afterward, they’ll have to put some effort into their content – a lot of effort, actually.

Content is King

There’s an old saying amongst SEO experts and web developers that goes: “content is king.” Some will even claim that the way the content is written on your website is far more important than the actual product or service you’re trying to sell on that same website – an opinion that can easily be justified by facts.

For example, let’s take a step back and compare quantity and quality in the SEO industry for a second. Quantity is rather important in terms of a website is updated regularly and with a different type of content each time. This is done in order to avoid your site being proclaimed as “dead” and so that visitors actually want to come back to see what’s new.

On the other hand, we have quality. The way a good SEO marketing agency creates and optimizes web pages demands that there is at least a certain amount of good quality content present if their goal is to not only attract Google to its page (and therefore actual visitors) but also to make people revisit the site in the future on their own because the content actually made sense, was written well and implements keywords seamlessly into itself.

Equations and Algorithms

Everything we mentioned above can be narrowed down to common sense. Still, some people are not yet persuaded that content is probably the most important factor for a great SEO platform. In that name, let’s take a look at the technical side of it all.

For starters, almost 90% of modern businesses across the globe utilize content marketing, with about 76% of those same businesses valuing quality over quantity. Naturally, quality content is harder to create since it requires a wide range of things, but that’s a story for a different time.

Now, let’s get back to technicalities. Imagine you’re reading an article on the internet that only revolves around one sentence being repeated over and over again, only in different forms and without any fact really backing it up. There isn’t a single person that would come back to that same website rather than to one that features well-executed and relevant information in its content.

Furthermore, variety plays a rather large part in this as well. It all comes down to being good at anticipating query iterations of your target audience because one day they might read a lot, but tomorrow they might feel like watching interesting videos instead. In order to understand how marketing agency works, one must realize that there is a large variety of content that all needs to be high quality in order to achieve the highest possible ranking and as much traffic as possible.

Bottom line, SEO wouldn’t be SEO without quality content. The better the writing and the larger variety of multimedia content your website features, the more clicks you’re going to get – which means more money, of course!
